I’m selling my Ninja 400R to make room for a sweet, sweet ZX-6R that I’m picking up in the spring.
Dealer gave me a shitty trade-in offer so I opted to put it up on Autotrader and Kijiji. Had some serious inquiries and someone came to check out the bike once but today I got a pretty funny email. Asking price is $4,200 which is cheaper than most of the other 400R’s for sale.
Hi there I like your bike and it all sounds good, I will offer you $3000 if you can deliver to [city that is 2 hrs away] and take me for a ride for me to check it out. I just got my m1 [beginner’s license] and I got $3000 cash if you are interested? If I in anyway offended you with my offer I appoligeze.
Not happening bruh. Appolige not accepted.

I always thought the 400 a funny bike. hard to find and a little odd. then i remember Suzuki had a SV400 for a bunch of year, same deal.

According to Wikipedia the Ninja 400 was only sold in Canada and New Zealand for 2011 and 2012. I can’t imagine there was such a strong business case that they would do any real development on the thing. Chassis is shared with the Ninja 650 but I do not know if the motor makes an appearance elsewhere.

the whole bike(IIRC) was a sleeved down 650.
Either way, intresting little piece.

Huh, didn’t know they made a 400R. This would be a good entry level bike for me, I think (always thought the 300 would be a bit small for 6'5" me). Annoyingly I need to be sensible and buy a house/property first. Don’t want to cut into the down payment moneys, otherwise I might offer you $3100 :P

Sure. Picking up the ZX mid-April but wouldn’t mind even going on my 400 earlier if nobody buys it before then. It’s currently got a flat rear so need to get that fixed first.

$3100... well at least you didn’t ask for delivery to Hamilton.
Annoyingly the purchase of the ZX-6R has cut into the downpayment on a newer car. As for a house/property - what’s that?

Haha, no, I’d at least have the courtesy to go see the bike and make any offer personally. Realistically, if I was interested now I’d probably start at $3500 and hope to get it for $37-3800.
I’m told houses are things adults buy. Not sure why but I think it’s a sort place where I can store vehicles and occasionally sleep and eat, which could be useful.

Who would want to go to the Hammer? He should be paying more money so he can get out of it for an afternoon!

But he doesn’t yet have a bike on which to leave the city! Chicken and egg.
